Transporters

Not heard of them I'm afraid. We are using Loc Ltd to transport my sister's Haflinger from Spain to UK - he is being collected this Wednesday :D

They have been incredibly helpful right from the start, even when we had to postpone the original date, then cancel one trip (was supposed to be 2 horses travelling back but my mare was sadly pts 2 weeks before leaving). Anyway, if you want a recommendation, LOC have been fantastic. Hopefully the journey will be just as smooth but I have every faith in them.

Try Eric Gillies they do regular trips from the North, very professional ,shared loads so travelling a long distance should be less stressful, and they were not too expensive when I used them.

Another recommendation here is Gavin Jamieson Horse Transport.
I used him to transport my 2yo New Forest filly from Calshot, Hants up to Scotland (Edinburgh area) in May. She had never travelled before and walked straight in to his lorry first time. She arrived relaxed and happy in her new home. It didn't cost the earth either.....I'm a VERY satisfied customer and would use his service again. Gavin is based in Berwickshire, Scotland, and does regular weekly journeys up and down the UK. Fully licenced and insured.
Google the name for his website :)

Hmm, it looks from their website like they travel 2 horses in their 3.5t Renault, which is almost definitely going to be over the payload of the box...

Personally I can recommend Ken Gamble. He brought my new one home last weekend and despite the ridiculous heat & it being a fair few hours of a journey, my little chap arrived very happy and calm.

Sorry not heard of them but then I wouldn't use a biscuit tin transporter!

HH do enough stories about these tiny boxes and horses jumping through and over the breast bars and having the fire brigade to cut them free.

For horse transport we use www.jmrt.co.uk

HGV Oakley lorries and have been running for over 10 years now - would not use anyone else.

Good luck
