Hi,

Does anyone know of good, reliable companies that transport horses to Europe? Approximately, how much does it cost to have your horse transported to Germany?

Any help would be very much appreciated! :)

Always been around the £500 mark for various EU countries :) But depends where you are, who you go with and if it's a shared load like said above.

steer clear of loc very unproffesional
eric gillies is v good

I know a number of people that have transported horses by LOC from Spain to the UK. All had extremely positive experiences. My horse arrived fresh and fit after his trip.
LOC kept me informed as to the progress of the trip on a daily basis. All ways happy to speak with me when I called.
Emailed me some pictures of my boy through out the trip.
I found them extremely professional.

This was the lorry delivering my boy.

I think you will find that in the case of companies with good and bad reports, posters with really horrible experiences are banned from mentioning them. Just saying...without naming any names of course :)

What you have to remember is it can take anywhere between 12 hours and 5 days depending on who you go with. Going on a shared load opens your horse up to coming into contact with atleast all the other horses on the truck let alone any stop overs. You very much get what you pay for. Bottom end £400 top end £K3. Gillies very rarely go to europe parkers do most of their eu work and they collect from them to make uk deliveries.

Good point. I've been thinking about it. Still, it is apparent that some companies get more positive mentions than others. Even though there might be some horror stories associated with them that I wouldn't know about, I'll just have to pick a company from the "large-number-of-positive-mentions" list and hope for the best :)

Erm... and by the way, if anybody wants to tell me some horror stories they shouldn't hesitate to PM me. Just saying...

Thank you, it is really useful piece of information.
