I wonder if anyone could give me a rough idea of how much it costs to transport a horse from the UK to Australia?

A friend took a 13.2 pony to New Zealand and it cost £8k. The pony was at least 18 years old, so no spring chicken, but she made it! Quarantine took weeks as it was two stops. Tia took a pony out to the States with her - am sure she will have a good idea, too.

Sent 3 out there in January at a cost of £7000 each.

This included 21 days pre export quarantine and all tests, transport to airport, flights, transport to post export quarantine stables and a 14 day post export quarantine stay and transport to you in Oz.

Good luck

No idea how much to Oz, but I shipped our pony out to Canada in 2004 and it cost me £6,600.

I've just had a quote for £6500 but that does not include any tests or road transport to/from quarantine etc - who did you use to ship yours??
