Transporting to italy.. help please.

ive just sold a horse that is going to be going to italy, does any body know how near to the travel date the horse needs to have its pre travel check? also any other paper work we need.

(had called vets but darn woman has gone home)

horse will be going from devon.. to holland, then on ot italy.
