I'm looking to take a mare to her new home in Ireland. I've jus been quoted £457 + vat one way on the ferry (2 adults 1 child freight price) then £268 back (as trailer empty)has anyone done it and was it that sort of price?! a transport company would be much cheaper, I was trying to reduce the cost by doing it myself!

Shared load with a transporter = much cheaper. I brought 2 horses over from Nottinghamshire to co. Antrim door to door for £500

I've done it - but the trailer was packed with our belongings and the horses (3) were shipped professionally. It can work out cheaper if the transporters are bringing horses over from Ireland and they have an empty box for the return journey. Ours actually went from Rosslare to Belfast and then down to the republic, it was 500 quid then but that was about 13 years ago.

Hi guys,
I am a lover of antique and vintage artifacts because of that passion; I traveled all over the world for visiting and capturing unique and adorable artifacts. In my list there are many names but all of them, I choose Trinity College for my weekend break and I include some of my friends for that weekend. I reached at Dublin port by Dublin Swift Fast Ferry from Holyhead. There was so comfort and easiness in that ferry. It reached at Dublin Port within 1 and 50 min and that time was so amazing. After that we catch (http://www.southdublinbushire.com/) South Dublin Bus Hire Company’s mini-bus which was already booked by us from that ferry. We are amazed with the instant service of that company and mostly by their services and their interior. The comforts of the seats are great and it was reasonable too. The bus driver was so experience, we can found it through his perfect driving.
