So I have single handily dealt with our feral cat population by having them neutered. The farmer is elderly and quite likes them and thinks they should be left to their own devices etc. Needless to say we ended up with 9. I’ve neutered or rehomed all of them apart from 1 mum. None of them are particularly feral and I’ve managed to handle all of them no problem. Last week I went to take this remaining cat and she turned herself inside out. Could not get her in the basket. Tried again today with big gloves and the same! I’m surprised as generally a very friendly cat. So, I’ve got a trap now. But so far all I’ve trapped is cats I’ve already sorted! How do I single her out? We have some spare stables but there may be the odd tile missing and she is wary of going in there?

Your local cat rescue will have excellent cat trappers - the lady who helped me knew all the tricks.

Could you feed everyone in the trap for a few days and then contain the others whilst you put food in the trap for the last one? Warm cooked chicken brings cats in from a 10 mile radius I have found.

Good luck, you are a star to get everyone neutered - I am doing the same here in Wales!

Thanks for your reply. I got this trap from the cat rescue and they have been great. Slight issue is farmer is funny about the cat rescue people coming on to his land (previous bad experience) but he is happy for me to do it.
this trap is long and thin but maybe I could get a wider one. Certainly have no issues getting them to appear, we feed them twice a day. It’s just getting her to go in the trap or basket.
