One of the very few times I have openly cried at work, and it was heart wrenching.

We had a call from a client that had taken an epileptic seizure whilst walking her dogs and when she came around both dogs where gone.....she frantically searched and found her puppy near the motor way in the bushes unable to walk she had to carry her home, she was in shock and lame, the girl was hysterical, and on the way to the surgery she found her other 4 year old dog dead on he road

......she was sobbing so hard it was hard for me not to break down, but I had to keep her calm, and literally let it all out when I finished speaking

The puppy was going into x-ray as I left shift as she lost use of her hind legs

Im going to phone in this afternoon to get an update.
Im keeping everything I can crossed this puppy pulls through and it's maybe a fractured pelvis and nothing worse, but it does not look good

On the other hand another dog died needlessly through sheer cruelty and neglect.
This Xmas for me has been full of deaths and bad news, be it human or animal, cannot wait for the year to end.

Big hug for you and vibes for the pup - it may well be ok yet ((((((()))))))

2010 is going to be a better year for all, I can feel it.

What a horrible thing to happen! Poor girl, she must be absolutely devastated.

Fingers crossed for the puppy!

I know it looks bad at the moment, but think of all the animals you have helped, all the dogs you have sucessfully rehomed, all the dogs that got better at the vets...Why not do a post with all the rehoming successes of 2009? That would cheer everyone up!

That poor, poor girl. Having lost horses on the road, I can some way imagine what feelings were going through her mind when she was frantically searching for them.

All your worst nightmares at once, especially as she wouldn't have been feeling too well herself, post seizure.

I had a happy ending. My three horses were found 3 1/2 miles away, all together and all fit and well. I dreaded finding one of them dead....or worse still that they had caused an accident that injured members of the public too.

What a horrible, distressing shock for their owner. Words cannot convey how heartbroken she must be feeling and how sorry I feel for her right now.

RIP little dog and positive vibes for the puppy. I really hope she doesn't lose both her companions.

R.I.P. 4 year old dog, I hope the ending was quick.

Fingers crossed that something can be done for the puppy and lots of thoughts to the unknown owner. Only thinking about how she might feel, makes my heart ache.

To you Cayla, I hope that Patches idea can make you feel better.
