Hi everyone,

was just wondering if you could recommend some REALLY strong travel boots! I have had some Amigo ones and my 17hh klutz has managed to destroy the back ones, so we bought some more and he destroyed them again! So then we got him some Shires Turnout boots and tried to take him out in the trailer today and he destroyed those too :( He cut his leg the first time and has taken the scab off today pratting about, I just feels like laying down in a dark room and crying :(

So... we need some extremely tough travel boots that won't cost the earth(bearing in mind he went ALL the way through the Amigos) :O

Thanks in advance :)

mine did exactly the same - mark todd ones wrecked, then some cheap ones wrecked whilst wrecking them managed to pull both back shoes off and stand on coronet and cut herself really badly (nearly ended up going to liverpool because of it)- i then stable bandaged which was far better and never got wrecked or pulled off. but it is easier with boots so i did 2 things - one was to travel without partition as she obviously needed more space to spread her legs and the other was to buy some barefoot boots that went over her shoes so she couldnt stand on herself and if she did wouldnt hurt herself. She travelled fantastic then - so i bought her some new amigo boots and never looked back.

I have since bought a single horse trailer and instead of barefoot boots I now use pro choice kevlar overreach boots to protect coronet and 'touch wood' have never had a problem.

We had a similar problem with one of ours trashing travel boots so we now use pads & bandages. They stay on better & never end up around his fetlocks on the floor stomped & on.
