Travel time to clinics/training (especially winter evenings)

I recently saw an indoor winter trec series of events advertised in my county, however on closer inspection the venues are all 45min to an hour away (on a good run)
How far do you all travel to such things, I'm feeling its too much for a winter evening, lightweight I know.....😐
 
Most of my clinics are one hour and one is one and a quarter. The travel is not a problem but I don't do evenings because I am old!! I can't believe I used to use the collage indoor school with the riding club when my old horse was young. I didn't get back till quarter to ten at night. I was 20 years younger then though! I am now a not to early or late please sort of person.
 
30/45 mins is my limit these days even at weekends for training/clinics.

Like @Hobo2 I used to livery on a yard that had lessons until 9pm Tuesdays to Fridays so used to ride after and get home around 11pm 4 days a week in winter. It was closed on a Monday and all horses got their only weekday turnout.
 
For me it would largely depend on the road to the venue rather than the actual distance. There is a significantly large facility where a lot of clinics are held in my county; the journey there is usually 40mins in a car, would be probably over the hour if towing, but it's all main roads until you get to the very last bit which is a bit narrow. I haven't been to this venue, might do at some point, not sure.

There is another venue 30mins towing-time from us - good roads to it - where we've been to a few clinics.

I'm not sure I'd want to tow in the dark though; am too much of wuss (and too bleddi old too).

We don't have anyhting closer than 1 1/4 hours, most are 1 1/2 hrs. So I do that for day or weekend clinics/training/competitions. If it's getting towrds 2 or 3 hours away, it needs to be a multi-session training day /day camp, or a special competition. Putting decent lights, connected to a decent battery, in the horse area and tack room of lorry was one of the better things I did :)

I’m planning to do 30mins for dressage lessons after work (as I’ve been doing this summer) through the winter. It’s actually an easier drive than some of the closer places! I wouldn’t think twice about it, but I’m used to doing a lot of driving and I now live super close to the yard. Involves leaving the yard some time between 5:30-5:45pm, getting back 7:45-8pm. I can only do this because he’s on full livery those evenings so no chores to do and he’ll be in when I get there about 5:20pm.

In general I’d travel up to 1hr-1hr15 for the right training. Maybe further for an XC clinic somewhere other than Pontispool (which is our regular training venue!)

IKMV I am impressed you can get to Pontispool in just over an hour from Lincolnshire :D . I am guessing you have moved. Pontispool is a great training venue.

I like doing an evening lesson during the week as it motivates me and gives me a good indoor surface with decent lights to work on. I'll travel up to an hour, though I generally curse myself when I get back in the pitch black and it’s hammering down with rain,
 
Years ago used to regularly compete of a Friday evening and not be back til very late. Was about an hour away. Have done up to two hours weekend for a clinic but a very specific one. Don’t tend to venture out evenings though now.

Winter, weekday nights are tough! I go to an arena 45mins away, lesson at 7pm, so I generally don’t get back to the yard before 9, quickly skip out the box, tack away and settle the horse, leave about 9:45, in the house just after 10. It’s long and bleak but my argument to myself is i’d just be sat at home bored
