Hi all

A few weeks ago I was travelling to a show and my trailer flipped. It was the worst experience of my life and my horse was trapped and I really did think that was it! Somehow tho he survived, came sound and is back to work. I have got myself in serious financial bother purchasing a 3.5ton box as I have promised myself and him never to go near a trailer again.

However, he was a poor traveller before and had just got better and I know that it is going to be a long way to getting him happy about travelling again and wondered if anyone had any tips as to how to make his loading/travelling as stress less as possible including anything I can do/give him to lower his stresslevels?

Thanks!

when loading you have to remain calm yourself. Anxiety transfers and he'll pick it up if you're stressed. Treat loading and traveling as if its completely normal and nothing to be worried about.

use the box as a place to groom him and feed him to get him to have positive associations with it. Do this before you try travelling him anywhere.

that's to start, if you still have problems get an expert to help you out.
