Not sure if you work for Trading Standards or not Foraday, but I do and I can assure you this isn't how we see it. The legislation was forced upon Trading Standards to enforce, they didn't request it, so I do think your comment is a little harsh, obviously I can only speak for my county but I would hope nationally all Trading Standards departments think alike. I think they would show great tolerance where the passport issue is concerned and only act on where they really thought some one didn't have one at all.
