Can anyone please tell me if there is any way of travelling a horse (around the 16.3hh mark) and a miniature Shetland in an Ifor Williams 510? Together, at the same time. I have wracked my brains and cannot come up with a solution.

I would get in touch with your local Ifor dealer, ours are brilliant, they could put slots in for the breast bar further down for the little fellow.

Assuming its partitioned then put horse on the right and mini on the left with straw/hay bales below the bar to stop mini going under and a couple behind to if necessary

Could you maybe travel him in the front space in front of the breastbar?
Or use some old carpet over the breastbar. Should be stiff enough to stop him pushing through and going under and you could perhaps tie it on using baler twine.

bales (or anything not fixed down) are not a great option in the unforunate event that you have to brake suddenly or are involved in an accident they will move around and become a danger to both in the box.
whilst they can manage to keep their feet with sudden braking then being hit by a moving object (bale ect..) would knock them off feet or cause panic.

We had to do this recently & we suspended the breast bar to the shetland's height with baler twine, but it could swing, so not that safe.

I think your IW dealer can put some extra brackets in at the correct height on the partition & the side wall so that you can fit the breast bar at the correct height. I'd do it if I had to travel them together regularly, but I was just giving someone a lift.
