Does anyone else's mare turn into a demon travelling when they come into season? Grace usually travels fantastically, but today she did not stop pawing out all the way on a 40 mins journey. When we got there she had knocked the pin out of the partition so it was swinging, and had somehow managed to pull up a strip of metal and completely destroy it. How she came out sound and without a scratch I have absolutely no idea!

Then coming home (with the partition fastened and reinforced with a shoe lace

) she did bang but not as much...

Anyone else have a pawing horse in the trailer? Or a mare that is worse to travel when in season?

My mare starts being naughty to load just before she comes into season. She is also horrid if she is travelling in company prior to her season, squealing and kicking and a tart if she if in season.

Am I right in thinking you have an Equitrek? my beast paws and kicks out at the back wall/jockey door so Ive bought a sheet of really squidgy foam rubber to attach to the wall etc.

Nope... nothing different, all totally normal.

She didn't travel in a rug and just had her usual boots on. I went through all of this when we got there but she was happy to stand there munching once we stopped although was still tarting about
