Hi, my friend has recently purchased a companion pony and is looking to transport her home in her Ifor Williams 505. Only having big neddies, am unfamiliar with the best way to secure a small pony in a roomy trailer to ensure max safety and comfort. The pony is about 11.2hh and will be travelling on her own. Many thanks in advance

I have an older 505 (actually that reminds me, I need to sell it as I recently bought a new trailer lol). Mine had the solid breast bar in it and I had some brackets made lower down for travelling my 11.2 pony in it.

However, she's been in a more modern 505 and was fine with the adjustable breast bars anyway. Just tie them up in the normal way.

Our 11.2 is fine we move breast bar and breach bar in as far as they will go and tie up to normal ring. With the shetland we used to have to tie to breast bar.

Our IW had been used for bigger horses and ponies, so the breast bars were too high. We bought an extra set of brackets for the bars and put them in as low as we could above the seam, and they're just the right height for our 11.2, we tie her to the normal ring, but we do tuck the hay net so it hangs over the tack box down low enough so she can reach it!

Exactly what I did when we had a trailer and little ponies.
