Travelling foals from Ireland

Hello
I’ve got three foals to bring over from Ireland. They’ve been weaned this week.
just wondering what other people’s views are on when they should be travelled?

We had 2 come over this time last year , both came over on a 3.5t travelled loose . They walked off very chilled , not sweaty at all . Tucked into their Haylage straight away .
As long as they have been properly weaned before hand they should be fine

I've always travelled foals loose in my 3.5t with a thick covering of shavings on the floor.

Another here for travelling loose in a secure area with bedding.
I'm not a fan of moving them till they have been weaned at least a fortnight if not a month, unless really necessary.

Thanks. A transporter is bringing them over and I’m hoping can put them all in one wide partition. 3 weeks between weaning and travelling should be ok then?

3 weeks will be plenty enough. Enjoy your new beasties when they arrive!
