Travelling horse alone

I travel solo loads. And every week take two ponies (one a youngster) and two children under 7 to hire a school - with no other adult help. It’s fine.

I only ever travel 1 pony (payload) and unless hubby comes along for the walk Im more often alone. I box up to hack off road safely so 2 or 3 times a week. Passport and breakdown details in lorry, I have a little gismo thing that means I can charge the phone off the lorry if it goes flat. Hay and water on board, spare bits of tack, first aid kit for him and me and a flask of tea and some biscuits or chocolate. He loads and travels perfectly and we enjoy our little trips out

I travel round the country doing TREC on my own, as well as more local stuff like fun rides and training events. Horse passport always lives in my towcar, mobile phone has my equine breakdown service's card in the back of its case. Obviously I carry hay, (bagged haylage), and water, or at least a haynet if very local. I have a warning triangle and a hi viz vest always in the towcar too. I travel without the partition and can tack up inside if needs be. If only going a short distance I travel my horse in his saddle on the way out to save faffing when I get there.
Horse isn't the best loader in the world, but years of patience and working with him means I can get him on solo, every time, and within a minute or two (Just did a TREC where I was THE LAST to leave the venue for the first time ever - it was slightly alarming, but he actually walked straight on like a pro, I think he was so knackered he was glad to be heading for home!)
