hello, i am borrowing a friends trailer to travel my horse this week - only going 15 mins up the road. Having looked at the trailer tonight I think it may be fairly tight for her, and am considering travelling her without the partition. Is this a really really bad idea if there isn't a full width breast bar? I know it wouldn't be ideal, but wasn't sure if it was outright dangerous.... Otherwise I guess I will have to see how she is when loaded. Thought about moving the partition over slightly to travel her, but guess that's not good either as don't know how I'd secure it

thanks guys for any advice/suggestions

altough i have never had any experiance of this my inital though would be that she wouldnt have any where to lean against when braking etc ehich may make the journey harder for her!

I used to travel my horse with the partition but he hated it and kept going down in the trailer. Once he went down I had to rempve the partition and tried to travel without a full breast bar to get him off the main road...but he spun round and kick hell out of the front of my trailer and actually booted a panel out.

I now have a full length breast bar and I cross tie him and he travels fantastically. They manage really well and they can find their own balance they don't need anything to lean against.

Hope this helps

my mare wont travel with a partition, i cross tie her and use full width breast bar, she travels really well alot more balanced etc ive had cctv fitted so can watch her and she never moves

yes that's what i'd have thought, just clutching at straws that someone might tell me otherwise. I will have to try and squeeze her in the partition i guess, and see how she looks when in.
