Travelling on Monday - to rug or not to rug?

Hiya. My horse is going to the vets on Monday and I'm not sure whether to put his fleece on him for the journey.

Last Wednesday for a half hour journey I put it on him and he came off all sweaty. This time the journey is about 45 minutes, and I'm worried he'll get cold if I don't put one on. What's worse? Too hot or too cold?

well mine us clipped and didn't wear a rug today.. have you got a lorry or trailer?

He's going in a lorry. (And he isn't clipped).

I wouldn't put his fleece on. He's unlikely to get rained on or severely windswept inside a lorry! Then again, I travel mine nude all the time. The longest he's spent on a lorry was 9 hours.

Thanks Last year when we went to the vets it was -3 outside so he went in his stable rug and was fine. I think that's why I got a surprise when he was sweaty in his fleece! Oops

If fluffy defo not rugged.
mine are fully clipped and wear a thermatex and if a short trip a newmarket fleece on top.

Unclipped a sweat rug is a good compromise.
