If you were travelling two horses, do you have a preference over which one should go nearest to the cab?

I am planning on travelling one near to the cab, and then one in the middle partition (it is a 7.5 tonne with three spaces)... is this right?

I think you should put the heaviest nearest the cab. Although I always put Corroy nearest the cab as that's her space

Whenever I travel 2 (have a 3 horse lorry) I always put the first one in the partition near the cab then the other in the middle

If I have a difficult loader, I put that in 1st, so that the good loader does not pick up any ideas!

My own horse goes in the front as its his lorry and he gets the window seat!

I am taking my two to their first show together this weekend too. They have travelled together once before, they get on really well anyway so I'm not worried about that part so much its more the separation bit once they get there that will be the problem.
I also have a 3 horse lorry and will travel one nearest the cab and one in the middle. Which way round depends on which one I'm jumping first, so I'll load the one I plan to jump first last - if that make sense!

depends on the lorry!! On your thing from the plating it will have the weight split over the axles, you want them to be pretty equal so it depends how heavy your living is really! between the axles gives the smoothest ride apparently!

Do you not have head guards you can use? If i am travelling with a starnge horse or a mare I use mine.

No, I don't have head guards fitted because one of mine cut their head on one a couple of years ago, so when I had it converted I decided not to have them

We go nearest partition and middle, both horses are about the same size so go on in order of which horse we need out first - it goes on the back on the way and as it's out first tends to be finished first so goes back on first

I travel middle and rear so weight is over axle on mine..if I travel solo then I always use the middle one!...if your worried about them squabbling then just tie them short..mine bit his field companions ear on the way back from a holiday a couple of years ago, his mate was grey and we had no CCTV so you can imagine the mess when we got home and opened the lorry....have CCTV now so can see when mine is grumpy!!!...

This is how i travel mine. Which ever one is needed 1st at show will go on last

Ged and Haj detest each other (Haj will seriously batter Ged if I turn them out in the school together) but they will travel quietly side by side with little or no grumping. No idea why that is as the first time I traveled them together I was really worried I'd have WW3 on my hands.
