Just wondering what folk do?Often go to a show and its fine leaving yard as horses legs are all dry/brushed etc before putting travel boots on. But on way back often opposite true as we live in NE Scotland and legs are often gritty from school surface or muddy from outdoors grass arenas.I don't like putting boots over this cos of rubbing etc.Sometimes no access to water and tbh not enough space to carry water to wash legs properly.
So does anyone else have this problem and what do they do?
Or am I being too cautious??

To be honest we tend to just boot up and go regardless of whats on their legs after a competition, dont know if that makes us cruel though? :)

It doesn't take much water to splash a bit in a bucket and then dip a waterbrush in to take the worst of the mud/sand off. I then towel the legs off and then put travel boots on. The legs usually dry really well in travel boots - they wick the moisture off. You just have to make sure that the boots dry properly before you put them away - mud/sand brushes off easily when dry.
