Hi going to pick up my new pony soon and was wondering if its better to travel without the centre partition in. Its gonna be about a 2 and half hour drive, only problem is if i take the partition out i wont have the breach bars... do any of you travel like this or is it a no no.... all comments welcome

that is what i thought but i have also heard that they can balence better with out the partition in? I think i will prob leave it in as i will feel happier

You will need full breech and breast bars if you wanted to do this... It is what I do though the chap is 17.3 and definately needs the room

As someone else has said, you have no choice but to travel with the centre partition in. You cannot travel a horse in a trailer without a breech bar across, everytime you brake the horse will have nothing to stop him plunging head first into the front of the trailer.

It would be extremely dangerous to travel your horse without partitions without a breast bar.

I travel my horse without partitions, but I have a full breast and breach bar.

As has already been said above, it's absolutely fine to travel them without the partition - as long as you have a one piece breast bar. I always travel mine this way (as long as I'm only taking 1 at a time), they travel very well and actually seem to prefer it. If you haven't got the breast bar, then you're doing the right thing to keep the partition in.

my boy travels without the central partition (unless he has company) and at present also without a breast bar, as he is so tiny the breast bar is just as dangerous as without (its at his face height) it never effects him as he will generaly try to turn around and face the rear of the box, but stupidly if we hire a rear facing box he turns around to face front! even with a parttition in & will not travel herringbone! (my god you would have thought i was murdernig him)

we are looknig to get our own box soon that we can have made to fit him (lower breast bar/tie up rings ect)

good luck with bringing the new one home.
