I've got to take my boy to the Royal Vet College on Thursday for investigation and possible Stem Cell Treatment as he's got a hole in his hind tendon.

Now what should I travel him in? He normally just wears travel boots but due to the fact that it's a long journey (2 hours) should I bandage him behind to give him some more support?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Whatever you do put on, make sure you put something tough and very padded on... if he's tentative on the bad leg and likely to be keeping weight off it, he's more likely to be unbalanced.

I'd ask your vet about the best way to support that particular type of injury. When I thought about moving my mare with a tendon injury I discussed it with the vet and he said that he would show me the best way to bandage her should i decide to move her.

When I took Alee to the RVC I just took her in travel boots. My vet advised not to bandage due to the risk of her legs over heating. Good luck on thursday I'll have my fingers crossed for you. I'm off to the vets with Alee thursday too for her last shockwave treatment.

When my friends horse broke down at a show the vet that was there [one of the top vets in the country] put a block under his heal and he travelled like that but it had only just happened and is probably completely different to your case.
Hope it goes well
