Travelling

Opinions on travelling a pony (13hh) in a 505 with no partition. Do they find it tricky not having something to brush against? Never travelled without partition but this may be an option next time I take him out.
He doesn't like loading, has a big melt down and runs off but travels well and is super chilled when reaching destination.

Can't practice loading etc as yard owner doesn't allow it, load and go is what he allows. I also need to be in a secure place such as arena or alley way so he doesn't run too far. Tried everything else and only using full breast bar and no partition is left to try for loading.

I have a 13 2 pony, she much preferred travelling in a 511 without the partition. Cross tied. She stood diagonally and seemed to find it easier to balance that way.

”Load and go” rule is another one to add to the list of weird yard rules!

The disadvantage of not having a partition is that they can move about and possibly turn around in the trailer making the trailer unstable.

Your pony should be fine without partition and full length bars, make sure he's cross tied so he cannot turn round .

Thank you for the replies. I would cross tie him anyway if I travel without partition.
The yard comes up with new stupid rules every week but before hand it would never have been an issue. This one rule is annoying as surely it should be a good thing to try and load safely and try to get the horse used to loading but for some reason this yard isn't interested even though their own pony slammed out the back of trailer under the bum bar when they were lifting the ramp for it to go crashing down on them. they didn't learn from that and still put ramp up while stood under it.
