Treating fly bites

This happened whilst horse was in the field friday it was hard when i grabbed him in (first time in months that owner wanted to ride) this morning it had apparently gone soft and grown. Any ideas for what to do with it, i ignored it friday as he has had smaller ones before and they fade over night so didn't really worry, this one is still here . Any ideas would be great.

my horse had some big bites a couple of weeks ago. The YO suggested Piriton (4 pills in his feed per day), and rubbing witchhazel gel onto the affected area. It cleared it up within about 2 days.
