The new pony has a small windgall on his hind leg. I have seen feed supplements and heard that magnetic therapy can work. Has anyone tried these to any success or have other ideas. He had this when we bought him and he passed a 5star with it , it causes him no problems.

If it causes him no problems then I wouldnt worry :)

Windgalls cause very little problems, but if you want it to go away to look better bandaging at night can help it.

I second what only_me said.

Magnetic and feed things can get very expensive and if the horse has already got windgalls you can't reverse it as its usually just general wear and tear on the horses joints. Bandaging over night is proably the best way forward to keep them down but if they arn't causing him a problem or you dont want to show the pony etc, then its proably best to leave them alone.

The mare I used to ride had small windgalls in summer, she was usually kept out but if she was stables, ie night before competition (she was coloured so needed a good bath) we would just put stable bandages on.
After exercise we would cold hose her legs and after hard work, canter work/cross country we would spray MT ice cool spray on her legs.
We went a bit OTT with cooling but windgalls don't usually cause major problems :)
