Treating Wooden Stables

Any recommendations for a wood treatment for 3 year old wooden stables?

My local timber merchants stock a waterproof woodstain that is for stables.

Its called Stable Coat and its made by a company called Protek.

I'm using Barrettine Wood Protective Treatment on my stables and shelters, safe for plants and animals once dry, dries quickly (although that maybe because it's the first time I've treated my 3 year old stables!) and low odour. Very pleased so far.

I'm using light brown purchased from Toolstation.

Ronseal shed and fence preserver. It’s a traditional solvent based product, not a water based one, so it penetrates better and lasts longer than a water based treatment.

The field shelter is now 14 years old.

I've just done mine with Ronseal (as above post) Do not, if hell has you, use Barn Paint. Dreadful stuff.
