I have always given my horses loads of treats, including my new 6 y/o. If they ever became pushy or nippy it would stop but they never have. Don't let anyone except me & my OH give them treats though so I can monitor it, and I wouldn't want them bothering other people. One woman goes into the field and get's mobbed by horses because she takes a bag of carrots in every day (Grrrrrrr) but my mare doesn't even approach her.
