Well Finni and I paired up with friends form Kent to do Uckfield & District RC Trec comp in Uckfield.

Luckily the rain stopped as we arrived. Yay!

Control of Paces - Finni did amazingly slow canter, but then freaked out at the tape fencing off the area and jiggled in walk. doh.

Obstacles - He flatly refused to go anywhere near the bamboo canes (low branches) but generally was fine with everything else.

Had a great time on the orienterring - thaks to my amzing map reading friend!

All in all a great day.

For the un-initiated amongst us....what is Trec

I was at a RVRC event at the weekend and saw they had done a 'Semi Trec' event, but I am none the wiser to what it involves

Ohh, I've been waiting to read your report - he sounds like he was a star! Kangaroo didn't "get" the low branches either, I will have to create something somehow and explain it to her. Well done!

I've been thinking the same about practising the branches!

My friend and I can't wait to do another one. There's one in Surrey in the Autumn where you can stay over and "corrall" the horses, which I think Finn would find most amusing.

I looked on BHS website today, apparently we came 15th. Not bad, since niether of us can read a map! I got the highest mark for Control of Paces!
