Trec competition tomorrow and hoof boots have broken!

I've entered a trec level 2 and tomorrow is the orienteering. Sure enough as im checking the ponys hoofboots to make sure they are clean and there is nothing that will rub, the wire that holds them together snaps. I've got renegades and the only spare parts are from America. I have spare straps but no cable.

No idea what to do now, he would go 20km happily if I knew it was all on grass tracks, but last year there were long sections of gravel track and some roadwork. The most roadwork he does at the moment without boots is a couple of miles, so his feet aren't as conditioned to it as they were.

Not sure what to do! The downside of trec is that you don't know the route until you are in the maproom just before the ride, so I can't tell if he will be okay without them.

No point to this, it's just frustrating. Next time I need ones with no cables, they hadn't shown signs of this happening.
 
Spares. I only have one equiboot (to carry for L3!)and it's sized for big foot so can't help sadly.

Hope you get something sorted - may see you there ;)
