Can anyone tell me what the initials POR (the orienteering phase) and PVR (the xc/obstacle course) stand for - I am assuming it's something in another language as it is referred to as "international terminology".

I have some rather sickly banoffee pie here if you are desperate :D

It's French, the POR stands for Parcours d'Orientation et de Regularite. And PVR? do you mean PTV? stands for Parcours en Terrain Varie.

Yes please to the banoffee :)

I know they're French (it originated there) but don't know what they stand for sorry (despite a French degree I still can't work it out!) I thought the obstacles were PTV though?

I did my first event on Sunday and somehow managed to win it, so I supposed not knowing is no barrier!

ETA: Cross posted!

Yeah I meant PTV :o:o oops

Wedges of banoffee winging their way to you both, many thanks wonderful HHOers (always to be relied upon :D)

Oh and many congrats Annagain!!

Why's that one in English? Designed to confuse :( You can have all the rest of the banoffee pie Ashgrove :D

No idea and thank you :)

It can be called La Maitrise des Allures, but that's a bit of a mouth full.

I have to admit to finding all these terms in my BHS Trec book, but I do compete in Trec.
