thinking of buying some - i was thinking of the pro gaiters but i like the softer leather (unless someone can tell me that the pro gaiters are really soft)
i have measured my calf and its 14.5" - do i go up or down to 14 or 15?
plus i measure 15.25 inches high - do i go for 15"

i want these for dressage (only do low level stuff) but like really soft gaiters - can't do long boots as i have dodgy ankle.

any advice appreciated

thanks

I have the pro gaiters and they have a much nicer shape at the top than the trimline ones, and i wouldn't say the pro's were particularly soft but look more like a boot than a gaiter if that makes sense. I would go for the 14 calf as they do have plenty of give, and height wise i got one inch taller than i needed and regretted it! They really hurt at first! Get the 15 inch because you can always pull then up a bit because of the elastic under the boot.
Hope this helps

can i ask with the pro gaiters - they arent stiff are they or very thick - It would help if somewhere locally stocked them instead of buying blind over internet.
i have seen some gaiters that are quite stiff and dont mould to the shape of your leg if you know what i mean

i have them and i love them! they are so soft from the very start, very comfortable and extremely hardwearing too! will buy them again everyday of the week!

Not tredstep but bought some ariat gaiters from a 'knowledgeable' suppliers and they recommedn buying them 'longer' than you need cos they drop..

so those of you with gaiters reckon i should go for 15 or 16 inch height? - i measure 15.25" from back of knee to floor.
(i know short legs!!)

cheers

I have found my Tredstep pro gaiters have hardly dropped, my Sergio Drasso ones have but not significantly, this probably isn't much help but the Sergio Grasso ones are much more supple if slightly more expensive, I have the Torino 260 and they are fab. Although I would also recommend the Tredstep ones - their customer service is also very good, I had a faulty pair which they happily replaced within a week!
