Another treeless thread! (sorry).

Anyone got any feedback - good or bad - re. the Dream Team/Freeform saddle range. There's a special offer of £100 off their saddles until Easter I believe.

I like the look of the "Elegance" saddle (typical, coz its not exactly cheap!!); their saddles have interchangeable seats as well, so any feedback about that would be welcome too.

Thanks.

I don't know much about the Dream Team saddles but while freeform were cutting edge in their time IMO there is a lot better out there now.

I've found the FF tend to rub at the back of the saddle (maybe just the types I've used it on) and the whole thing of having to have special pads, weight limits etc has been solved by the likes of Trekker with their adjustable gullets for very similar money to buy. Also, are Goldfinch still the only ones selling FF? I swore I would never deal with them again after the hassle and incompetence I had from them in 2001 when I tried to buy a fitform.....

I think I was misled by the fact that, in pictures, the freeforms look quite traditional. When I trialled one, I found it to be very bulky and much larger than I'd expected, which stopped it looking anything like a normal saddle. I felt very perched on it, and not stable at all. Thumbs down from me I'm afraid!

One of my friends has one andshe loves it and finds it very comfy, I have sat on it, and yes it is. Downside is that it ,on her horse, can slip a bit ie mounting from the ground is hard as it will slip as you mount. They dont suit me as I am a crap rider but if you are well balanced you will be fine. Really you need to try one and see for yourself as it is such an individual thing.Am getting a saddle company cob saddle for my cob ,they are fitted to a template of your horse and moderately priced.

My friend has a Dream Team on her gypsy mare, and loves it. She had a really hard time getting an affordable treed saddle to fit, but the Dream Team one is perfect on her, and they're both much happier in it. Plus it is EXTREMELY comfy!
