Am looking into treeless saddles, not sure why as I don;t have huge amounts of money at the moment, but anyway.

Don't know where to start. I have a short backed welsh C, current saddle is Ideal WHP suede seat so good for shows and schooling, not so 'ideal' for long distance etc.

Any suggestions or recommendations? Preferably at the more 'economical' end of the market....

Also, are they any good second hand? I heard they mould to the horses back so may not work well second hand?

Thanks

If you can afford it i would recommend a HM Fhoenix.

Yes, they do mould to the shape of the horses back but then revert to standard shape when you take it off. So a second hand one would be fine. I think the smallest is 17in so depends who short you need it.

Why dont you have a rep over and try a few?

Freeform are good too, they do a short base model. Barefoot are well thought of as well and Libra are a good budget into treeless. I've been looking into them as well :)
