Hi Guys

My 16hh has a sway back and i'm finding it very very hard to find a treed saddle that fits. Have any of you tried a treeless on a sway backed horse? Have spoken to Easytrek (their prices are all I can afford at the moment) who said their easytrek comfort may do the trick. Any advice greatly appreciated.

i had a barefoot cheyanne for my sway backed 27 year old and it was fantastic! it moved with him and didnt restrict in any way, it also gave great wither clearence. good luck xx

Hi Feisty

Have been looking at the cheyenne and the cherokee. Did you have to use a pad with your cheyenne I think i would prefer the cherokee cos of the knee rolls.

If you want to go treed, I know of a pair of WOW panels for sale that were made for a sway backed horse and are going for a very very good price. You'd obviously need to buy a WOW seat and flaps, but could get yourself a bargain WOW saddle. The horse these were for had very prominent withers and a sway back.

i used a pad yeah but it was just out of prefrance. i quite liked not having any knee rolls, i loved the freedom :) but iv heard the cherokee makes you feel alot more secure.

Try a suber pad with a barefoot treeless...can recommend the Cheyenne.

How tall are you?

Cherokees are useless for people with short legs...the knee rolls are more like ankle rolls! And the saddle is generally bulky and heavy at 13lbs.

You wont miss knee rolls on the cheyenne.

It is comfy, light and cheaper!

The Suber pad will fill the gap of the sway. Put the Barefoot pads (weight appropriate for you on with a suber (close contact is best) as well.

Only by the suber direct from David Ahn...the maker. His price is 25% cheaper than any shops!
