I seem to be posting a lot recently, must look like a total eejit!
So this a two in one thread
Firstly, I need some people to let me know what it's like to ride treeless! After asking Patch's owner (I share him) if she had any other saddles, as his current one is a rubbish fit, she's dug out her treeless one she used to ride him in... but I've never ridden in a treeless. So, is it any different? Are there any tricks of the trade that I should know about? Please let me know your experiences!
(Okay, that question probably does make me look like a numpty
)
Question two, would I be pushing my boundaries if I asked his owner to section off some of the field for Patch? He is in a paddock, around 2/3 acres with 1 sheep and three donkeys but the grass is very rich and lush. Patch is a chubster and although he is losing weight with more excersise, I think he's just putting it back on with the grazing
. The field could easily be sectioned off for him, leaving him with shelter without restricting any for the donkeys and I have a bucket I could use for his water, he doesn't seem bothered about being away from the others either and with just a bit of electric fencing he can still groom and see them. I'm just not sure if I should ask or if I would be out of line to say anything as she always says how horses naturally put weight on in the summer and lose it in the summer... Patch is obsese and it's not healthy.
Any help with either queries would be much appreciated!
(I''m sorry my posts are always so long... I do babble!)
