I have a HM Vogue, love it, it's a dressage saddle but I've jumped up to 3'6 in it, it's very comfy, I've been to a few comps in it, was even going to do a hunter trials in it but had to cancel as I wasn't well.
I have the HM Vogue dressage and a Fheonix. Love them both. So easy and comfortable and secure. I've also jumped happily in the dressage. I have nothing against treed saddles, but had endless fitting issues with two horses in a row (current one went through 5 in 18 months ), so test-rode the Vogue and took it from there!
ETA: Yes, I've competed in the Vogue, dressage and SJ. Only got the fheonix recently to back the baby with, so haven't tried that one out competing yet. Saving up for a FlexEE now, as I like the look of those too.
Just because a saddle is treeless doesn't mean it will automatically fit every horse. I like solutions saddles, and I quite like the heather moffat dressage saddle. I have also ridden in another treeless saddle with a huge front and back, don't know the make, but the fit is horrendous and I wouldn't put it anywhere near any of my horses.
I found this interesting: http://www.yourhorse.co.uk/Your-Hor...ws/April-08/No-advantage-to-treeless-saddles/
And I remembered the make of the horrible saddle: Dream team
I have the libra but it's the older hack about model. Its dead comfy. I really liked it but have just gone onto he total contact saddle which I love even more. I would recommend trying out lots and steer clear of the cheap no name ones on eBay.
There are some solution saddles on preloved for relatively reasonable prices (they cost a fortune to buy, the jump one is like 2500!) I really want to try one and they look pretty much like normal saddles.
Yes, I have a treeless and love it, find them so comfy. I used one on my late mare for quite a while, it was not a cheap saddle, it was a Randols or something like that, was around £300, lovely saddle. I mostly hacked in it but happily jumped also.
I then had a cheap second hand leather one to back Nell in which was very comfy, its not a bad little saddle really, but not as good as the Randols by any stretch
I bought a new one for Nell this week actually, an Easytrek treeless and I love it, really nice saddle, much better quality then my temporary saddle.
They are not for everyone and every horse but I love mine and Nell seems to go well in it, moves very freely
I had mine on a two week trial, £50 per week but if you buy the saddle that gets take off the price. Definitely have a Solution fitter out, even if you decide to buy from an alternative source.
