Will a treeless saddle suit any horse? I have a high withered tb and want to try a treeless saddle but wondered whether it would suit her

Depends how high withered and which treeless you are looking at. I currently have a treeless for my ID and it wouldn't have fitted my old WB but he was exceptionally high withered.

I've been researching treeless for the past 2 weeks for big wide new boy he's been ridden in treeless for yrs and that's how I tried him and I loved it too! Soooo comfy! But there seems to be a huge clash of opinions with them :S have you found this too?

Not all are suitable. You'd prob need one with a gullet. Sadly they're more expensive and there aren't many: Heather Moffett and Ansur (now called Solution Saddles) are about the only choice to give decent wither clearance.

I've just purchased a Norton Treeless, I find it VERY comfy but I'm not sure about the pommel on it. I was told that it should be two fingers from the withers but having never used a treeless before I'm concerned it is too close to his withers.

He is a large flat backed cob but does have some withers to him. I like the feel of riding in it as I can feel much more movement. Does anyone else have this sort of saddle or one similar to the Freeform, and how does it fit?

Cheers
Lisa

I've got a Podium, which has excellent clearance as based on old cavalry saddles. Only one guy imports them, if interested let me know & I will pm you his number. He can fit it as well as is a saddler.

Thanks for that, if you could send me the number that would be great. So should I be concerned that my pommel is only two fingers from his withers? The shop says that what it should be but I'm not sure if they are saying that as they don't want me to return it?

Cheers
Lisa

Another one (beautifully made and made in UK too :-))) are the Treefree saddles, I had a Treefree Dartmoor and it was lovely for both my 14.2 cob and 17hh IDxTB. Thoroughly recommend them. They have a proper gullet and also dont have the bridging across the back stirrup leather inside the saddle that some inferior treelesses have. Def worth considering. Make sure with any treeless that you use the purpose designed numnah for that saddle, makes all the difference.
