Treelesssaddles

I have a Heather Moffett dressage one and I love it! Feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions about it

There are two topics about treeless saddles on here in the last 2 days. I've posted quite a lot on one of them, so if you do a search it might be handy.

yer i was after information on the Mondial or semiflex over in stable yard thread.

i have tried Ansur but i wasnt a great lover, i have a Barefoot London but it doesnt look very - well - traditional - i know very vain!

so i am looking at the Mondial Holistic saddle by Kay Humfries, i have tried and tried to get through to Barry swain - better saddles but unable to get through on the mobile number on the website, i have now emailed so let see if that does anything.

but generally i love treeless, so too does my horse.

As said, there have been a few threads very recently. I have a Torson, and OH thinks it is the best saddle he has ever ridden in - he's ridden in many. Just remember that not all horses or riders get on with them. Also remember that the cheap ones tend to be - well, not nice, if you try one, go for a better make (eg Torsion)

Definitely don't like the look of the cheap ones and don't imagine they do horses' backs any favours. I've used a Torsion, found it comfy and it suited my position, but it didn't suit my tb at all. Not really surprising given she has withers like Everest - but I definitely didn't expect it to set off major neurological/vascular problems (collapsing)!!! So depends on the horse really. You can trial them and have someone come out and do a fitting. And agree with Moke that it's worth paying more for the better makes.

Total Saddle Solutions are the ones to go for, they are fab, i would not use anything else. They are the Enlish version of ansur and look very traditional, come in gp, jumper or dressage. Be very wary of cheaper treeless, not mentioning any names, they can do more damage than treed saddles. These are worth the money and i would not use any other type. PM me if you want any more info.

got a heather moffat - love it. ver traditional looking. my sister has a torsion and that is fab too. both horses go better in treeless

Agree dont go for a cheapie. I have a Treefree Dartmoor and it is fabulous, and the quality of the manufacture is great too. Both my 14,2 flat wide Haffie and my 17hh hunter go great in it :-))

You should also keep an eye out for these new Quantum saddles which are about to be launched. I gather that a few eventers have been using them and that they are quite revolutionary underneath, lightweight carbon etc, no tree, blah blah. It's all a bit hush hush as far as I can tell but I heard the Hoys have been using them and love them.

Hi Thanks for that, i m curious if you have one with the gullet or without?
I had one without and ended up with unridable, weak n v sore horse and big girth probs, thought it would be ok due to the price of these saddles!
