Hi
I'm between these two stallions for my mare. She's 16.1hh Dutch warmblood x tb. She has good movement and a good jump but is slightly long backed and her feet tend to spread.
Ideally I'd like to produce something for me to do dressage on and perhaps by that point something that might be my daughter's 1st proper horse from ponies, so it'll need to be able to jump too. Obviously it'll also need to be fairly sane and not too tricky if my daughter is to ride it too.

Any comments on either of these boys or their progeny much appreciate.

Thanks guys

I have a rising two year old colt by Frank out of a 16.1hh warmblood mare. He's a cracker, good confo, good temp, bright, good movement. Nothing to dislike at all.
He's only going to make about 16hh max, but that could be due to illness as a foal holding him back. (nothing congenital)
Frank's owners are fab but I think he's only available frozen this year.
I have photos and videos if you pm me.

I would love to see some pics. I will pm you. However frozen semen puts me off. I'm thinking lower conception rates?

Not necessarily. Much depends on the experience of your vet or whoever is doing the insemination. Have a chat with his owners as they will be able to tell you about availability.

I love Decanter, has a better comp record than FS and to a much higher level.
Offspring I have seen are nice, like FS the stock is quite young still so not a huge number out under saddle as yet.

I did seriously consider him for my advanced mare a few years back but decided he was too much of a punt when I was only planning one foal  and went with a more established stallion who was competing internationally. I did consider again when she went back to stud but ended up using the same stallion as I really liked the results. The stallion I used was Mooiman (Flemmingh x Roemer) who is KWPN approved.
I have an 8yo mare who is extremely talented and rideable. Unfortunately she also has a very good self-destruct button, having inherited her mother's lack of self preservation in the field, so has not really done much competing and is currently on rehab from another field acquired injury :banghead:
The second one I bred is a rising 4yo stallion, and has kept his bits because he is such a nice boy. He has been quite slow to mature like his dam so will go forward for grading next year once established under saddle. He jumps for fun, although his career will be dressage orientated as that is my specific interest. I am just on with backing him at the moment and i would swear he has been here before as he takes everything in his stride.
I went with Moo as I liked the movement he put on all his stock, good temperament, good soundness record and he is quite compact (which I like). the dam is 7/8 TB, although quite chunky old style NH type/bloodlines.

Thanks guys you've all helped lots. I was swaying to Decanter. Just need to see if I can arrange a meeting with the man himself now!
:-)

I bred Decanter to my Welsh D xTB mare - produced an exceptionally nice foal with great temperament and movement - she won the youngstock class at a large show last year and was placed every time out in hand this year. I intend to use him again as my mare is palomino and the cross gives me 75% chance of a palomino or cremello. Never heard a bad word about him; I met him - he had competed and collected that day but was so chilled out in his stable and very mannerly for a stallion. The main thing is addressing the conformation mix and finding a stallion that compliments your mare and might produce a horse that is suitable for your aspirations. If you can see him and his offspring it might help you decide.

Thanks Julz, I'm trying to arrange seeing him. I've left a message (on Friday) for his rider after speaking with his owner who told me that I was best speaking to him to arrange a viewing.
From photos and videos he looks lovely and should complement my mare well. Tbh I always find it hard to judge from young stock as to what they are going to turn out like until they start to mature. Any tips?!

Hi guys, sorry not been in here for a while, I really must keep in touch :)
Frank is available for chilled this season, but limited period due to comp commitments. We have had a rider change hence his sabbatical.... but we will be out there guns blazing again very soon. Decanter is a super choice to :)
