Sorry another post, last thread I promise :o

Anyone used this stuff? I bought some but upon reading the label it says do not apply to animals... I was hoping it would help my sweet itchers this summer! Can I spray it on their fly rugs?

It says that as it is not licensed in the UK but in the US it is used a lot. I used it last summer and it was very good. It doesn't last as long as they say but it does build up with use.

I used it last year, on a horse who was turned out next to a river, so very midgey. Worked really well - he was the only horse out there who wasn't tormented by them.

Swear by it for my itchy highland. However, I understand it works by actually sticking to the hair so not much use if the horse is moulting, which is mine is like crazy just now. I still have some left from last year which I'll use up and then restock. Definitely one of my front line defences against biting midges and other nasties. I even sprayed it on head collars, fly masks etc ....

Have a look at Wikipedia. Tri Tec contains cypermethrin. I find it works well but is quite expensive compared to coopers fly repellant which contains permethrin.
