Tribute to a very good dog

What an amazing life Bruno had with you after his crappy start. He will clearly be a huge miss đź’”

I read this today and it seemed appropriate.

Nothing you love is lost. Not really. Things, people—they always go away, sooner or later. You can’t hold them, any more than you can hold moonlight. But if they’ve touched you, if they’re inside you, then they’re still yours. The only things you ever really have are the ones you hold inside your heart. ~ Bruce Coville

I was really genuinely sad to read about Bruno. I loved his photos and funny ways. I didn’t know how you came about him, I just assumed you’d had him since a puppy.
What a lucky boy!
Run free Bruno, Looking down on those darn Amazon drivers
The Amazon driver thing still makes me laugh!
For those who aren't FB friends - here's the saga!
I started noticing that Amazon drivers were calling from the car, or standing outside my gate shouting for me to go out. Didn't think anything of it til one of the drivers, who knew him, said "I can't understand why he's been flagged up on our system as a problem - what happened?"
"Damned if I know" said I, and promptly got on the phone to Amazon to defend his honour. It turns out the warning on their system was because he "runs to the gate making weird noises, jumps up and down, and lashes his tail aggressively".

I have some rather lovely news.

I knew I'd get another dog at some point, but wasn't really thinking about it seriously yet. A few days ago, my father rang me, and said that he, my mum, and my aunt had been talking, and my aunt wanted to do something for me that equalled the amount of support she gave my sister when she moved to Australia. After much discussion, she decided that she wanted to buy me a puppy. The money would be stashed away until such time as I was ready...which turned out to be right now!

This is Idris. He's currently 4 weeks old - and is a Welsh Springer Spaniel - quite closely related to Morgan, my parents Welshie. He'll be arriving in Berkshire on the 2nd October (which is also my birthday!) I'm so happy/excited - going to be a long month!

It takes a special sort of person to 'get' the maelstrom of emotions that are Setters. And it takes a special sort of Setter to recognise that. He was beautiful. So sorry, Aus.
He was a particularly quirky one too! I miss him terribly, but hopefully the new hooligan will fill the hole, in a very different way!

Belated condolences for losing our lovely Bruno. His big character shone through your posts about him.

But how absolutely lovely that your family found Idris for you. He has a big gap to fill when he arrives, and it won't be the same, but I'm sure he'll brighten up your life with all his adorable puppy energy.
