My mare came up lame on her left hind so I've hot poulticed now for 3 days changing 12 hourly and it is still draining from what I can see on the pad when removed. There was a lump and a split on her coronet where it is coming from which has now gone slightly higher too so it is now just above the hoof.
Not much heat there and don't stand a chance getting close enough to look at it aside just applying the poultice gently. Any pressing is a no go!
Also been soaking in epsom salts in between poulticing.
Is there anything else I can do before I call the vet out?
Thank you!
