tricky dilemma

If she isn't responding I would send a message asking where she wants the pony delivered to and if a address is not forthcoming he will be dropped off at the meat man.....
Whether you do that or no is a different story but if she has any concern about the pony you will get a response.

as much as i like these suggestions i dont want to hand the problem on to someone else and do not want to do anything thats not legal, it looks like she couldnt care less about the pony

How much more are you supposed to pay to own the pony? If it isn't very much you could take it to auction and sell it, stash the money in a bank account and pay her if she ever turns up and asks for it. It is provbalby only going to be meat money though, so you won't end up much better off.
I do feel sorry for you. Can you find her address somehow and home stalk her?

Lol you've never been a livery yard owner then. It is not a case of just putting a lien on a horse and selling it after x amount of days. It's a long and involved process in the UK to recoup monies that way. Over here it's simple; registered letter after 14 days, advertise horse owned by whomever is going to such and such an auction (MUST be sold by public auction) and sit and wait. They usually pay up and then you tell them to vacate. In the UK it is far more involved. Anyhow this lady is not the livery yard owner and really is in a sticky position if the owner will not take the horse back. BHS is definitely where you need to go OP, they should hopefully have come across this before and will be able to advise you on the steps you need to take.

Sorry, that's a bit condescending! I never said it was a simple or fast process, but in the face of little other viable options it is a option, and actually yard owners over here in the uk DO do it to recoup cost, I've seen it happen numerous times on numerous yards. It's not exactly fast no, but then fast would be handing the pony back to its rightful owner which clearly isn't possible I'm this case.

There is a notice of abandonment on the WHW website. You only have to give 2 weeks notice then you can sell the pony. Pm me if you like - I've been in the same position.

thought it was sorted earlier today as she said old owner was prob going to come and get him and keep him, but again she has failed to call back and once again i cant get hold of her x fides i will pm you, thanks

What a tricky situation and a variety of possible actions. I hope you can resolve it quickly, easily and amicably. I am not going to add anything further, just wanted to wish you all the best, and luck.

Oh I am sorry, I see it is now resolved. Well done.

after a few terse texts and the threat of legal action she managed to find someone willing to come and take him, i dont think she ever had any intention of taking him back, i am just hoping that he doesnt get sold on to someone else unsuitable x
