Poor pony!
Got up this morning and went and fed everyone. Didn't bother putting the feed room lights on (I know where everything is, do it everyday), chucked the feed buckets into the stables, and toddled off to have my own brekkie.
Back out to turn out, notice pony has moved his bucket to opposite side of his stable, he never does that. More likely to be standing in it. Anyway, put him out into field, start mucking out. Go to pick up his bucket, notice he has left some of his food, then, closer look and......eeeeewwwwww! No wonder!!! Theres a dead baby rat in it!!!!!!
Must have gone into the sugar beet bucket in the night and drowned, and I just scooped it up and mixed it in!!!! Poor pony, and bad, bad mummy!
Now, anti -rat methods being employed on SB bucket, trip to country store to buy posion, as well as normal anti-rat precautions!
Other ponies quite jealous they didn't get the toy out of the breakfast cereal box!
