I am getting fed up with the poor quality of trigger clips on lead ropes. leg straps etc. I have never had so many break.

I bought two new lunge lines - I long rein my young stallion. He pulled away in the menage and I found I had only one line!! The trigger clip on the other had come apart - the clip had pulled out of its holding ring. It could have been dangerous.

Yesterday the same thing happened with a brand new lead rope from Robinsons. My colt was tied up while I groomed him and he was being a real fidget - next thing he was loose in the yard the clip had come apart.

Brand new rug - leg strap clip broke on first wearing.

I am sure a lot of these are coming from either China or India - so now it is only brass clips for me.

Yes, I've had this problem too; no disaster happened but one minute horse was tied up having feet picked out, the next there he was looking over my shoulder!

I am finding it increasingly hard to find leadropes which don't have this blimmin stupid trigger clip, OR those daft things that are supposed to be "panic" clips which is a total mystery how one uses one.

Perhaps I shall look on-line. Local tack shop is totally sold-out to trigger clips so shan't go there.
