Hi all, need to get some trimmers/ small (quiet) clippers for my clipper-phobic horse and am after some recommendations. Would ideally like something capable of doing head, tummy, ears, bridle track etc so a bit more heavy duty than the very small trimmers. Was looking at the Lister Meteors and wondered if they were any good? Not got a huge budget so bargains also good!

Thanks :)

I have Wolsley Skylark trimmers, cordless and rechargeable, I blanket clipped a 14hh pony with them over 3 days. They have even been used on the sheep!
Cost me about £68 pounds 4 yrs ago, Wolesly replaced the first set FOC as the battery wasn't holding its charge & I have replaced the blades once but I would recommend them as a set of trimmers.

I've just purchased the liveryman harmony clippers. I've always had "proper" mains powered chunky clippers in the past but they blew up a couple of weeks ago and I needed a pair in a hurry, but couldn't stretch to a couple of hundred at the moment.
I did a full clip this week, and was really, really impressed. I'm not sure if they'd cope if you were doing a really, really hairy yak with a thick, course coat but did mine with no problems at all.

Oh I have the Wolsley Skylark trimmers, bought them on a recommendation and they are really good so far! Pleased with them.
I got them to replace some Liveryman Flare which were the biggest pile of poo ever...would have been more efficient and a better finish to just gnaw the hair off with my teeth.

I have Moser Avalon clippers, they are very quiet and low vibration. They are not too big and are cordless. Our 2 1\2 year old was quite happy to let us hog her with these.

I have had liveryman harmony clippers for four years. My horse went ballistic the first time I tried to clip her with mains clippers so got these ones to desensitize her. Really quiet and battery lasts for the whole clip - definitely recommend them. She stands like an angel to get clipped now.

I have the Liveryman element rechargeable trimmers. I've done a full clip with them on my TB with the 3mm guards.
It looks fine & I won't bother to get proper clippers now because these more than do the job :)
