Do you use scissors or clippers? My cob has a little feather at the front but loads at the back. I want to tidy them up but still leave enough hair to protect his legs in the field. What would you do?

I find it hard to get a good neat trim with scissors so I use small, handheld trimmers with a blade attachment which allow me to tidy his legs without leaving them totally bald!

If you only to tidy them up and not take them right back to his legs then i would use scissors and comb as you can control how much you take off easier.

Thanks for that....are they horse trimmers or just general ones? I have some dog clippers that have various sized combs with them but wasn't sure if they would go through feathers??
