Have gone back to beginning with Poppy - I've had to as I am still nervous. Bought some dressage markers and marked myself an arena out in the field. Went really well, felt confident enough to trot, and rode on a much more relaxed rein so Poppy was happier, I hope. Baby steps but in the right direction.

I also spoke to her previous owner last night and she filled me in on various bits, which was lovely. She is going to send me photos of Poppy as a foal which I am looking forward to, and will send her some back of her that I have taken.

I don't know your background with Poppy but wanted to say well done for recogising you needed to go back to basics - that takes guts.

I wish you every success for the future

Really pleased that it's all going in the right direction, well done :)

It's lovely that you are in touch with previous owner and they sending photos of her as a baby - I would love to see photos of mine as foals.

Sorry I have missed your story but WELL DONE! Confidence can be lost so very easily and then can take a lot of getting back. Do please keep posting updates.
It's lovely that you are in touch with Poopy's previous owner, we met the breeder of our current Appaloosa at a show and she sent up photos of the mare as a foal and her parents. We know very little really about any of the other horses we have ever owned, so it's great that we know about her history.
