My street seems to have been taken over this evening by members of the travelling community trotting their horses up and down right in front of my house! I don't mind it as my street is pretty ok traffic wise and I like seeing horses outside but the problem is, we have speed humps all down my street and they ain't slowing down for them. I've ridden up my street before and Hattie slips on them at a walk, how on earth these ponies are managing to stay upright is beyond me but I wouldn't trot over them! Do travellers use special road shows on their horses?

Is it just Hattie being wimpy over them or does anyone else trot over speed humps? I always thought you had to walk over them.

I've never seen travellers on my street before but if they are setting up camp here, then I'm bringing Hattie home to live in my garden. Heck, if they can do it, why not me?? I don't have to worry about shavings and hay getting nicked if everything and my horse is at home!! :D

I used to be at a yard with speed humps on the drive, I used to trot my horse over them sometimes, he never had any problem with them. Just made sure it was a nice balanced trot. Thought it was quite a good gymnastic exercise for him and got him thinking about where he put his feet etc.

Never had a problem with bumps either...never even thought twice tbh!

Some can have special shoes...though nothing that would affect speed bumps I'd guess lol!

Our road has speed bumps down it. When I rode my horse down it for the first time at walk, he was so busy looking at everything interesting going on, he tripped over each one. Numpty boy.
