as above really. how many of my paces should be in between. and is it ok to make the last pole a small jump or shud there be a larger distance for that?
I think the best thing to do is play around. With my mare, 15.2 middle weight I put them out at 4 1/2 - 5 strides, but she will of course be quite happy going bigger or shorter, so play around and find your natural rhythm as I sometimes want her to stretch or shorten up, so can play around with it.
If you want a jump at the end, say you have 5 poles placed down, and the fourth pole is a jump, remove the forth pole from the grid and you will be fine going over it. Goodluck.x
For a 13.2 the distance between trotting poles should be 90cms. So for you probably about 1.5 paces - but don't guess! Measure 90cms & practice pacing it until you know how far your normal steps cover - don't take unnaturallygreat big steps, because the length won't be consistent.
thx russoheidi, i kinda figured, after reading it a couple of times!!! been a long time since i jumped and wanna ease myself back into it, coz i know i'll love it and so will ponio.
